Griffin & Quill LLC · An Edtech Company

Write your own legend. Learn it. Live it. PROVE IT!

Where learning becomes an adventure.

Griffin & Quill helps a student tell the story back: what happened, why people disagreed, and which evidence holds. Parents, teachers, and schools can start with tutoring, a classroom resource, or Quillhaven.

What we do

Three ways to start. You do not have to use all of them. Each one asks the student to learn the idea and then prove it.

Tutoring

Online one-to-one and small-group sessions in U.S. History and the Constitution (USHC), Government, Economics, and AP Human Geography. A free consult comes before any paid plan. The intro session is $35.

Demo

Quillhaven

A fantasy town where knowledge is power and every street holds a new adventure. Quillhaven Academy has four subject portals. Each one opens a hub, and the games live there. History & Social Studies is live first, with Mending the Charter. Science, Math, and English/ELA are coming soon.

How it works

The same three moves show up in a tutoring session, a lesson, and a street in Quillhaven.

  1. Play

    Step into the question

A source, a map, a choice, or a scene with something at stake. The student looks first, before anyone explains the answer.

  2. Learn

    Learn the hard part

A South Carolina teacher walks through the hard part: the term, the disagreement, or the sentence that will not land on the page.

  3. Prove

    Say it back

The student states a claim, points at the evidence, and says why it holds. That is the legend they get to keep.

Who it is for

Parents

A tutor and a plan for the history or social studies course your child is already in.

Teachers

Document packets and study guides you can teach this week, built by someone who is in a classroom too.

Homeschoolers

Lessons you can teach at the table, plus tutoring when a course needs another voice.

Built by a South Carolina teacher

Ryan Mayer is a South Carolina high school social studies teacher. His social studies courses are U.S. History and the Constitution (USHC), Economics, AP Human Geography, and Government. He has taught social studies for more than seven years and holds a Master’s in History Education.

Griffin & Quill LLC is his South Carolina company: tutoring, Teachers Pay Teachers curriculum, and South Carolina history browser games. The classroom habit is the same one the company asks for: read the source, weigh the claim, and write the answer in your own words.

The work is meant to sit beside the standards he teaches. When a card names a standard, that standard is marked as a sample until the real one is confirmed.

Notes from the studio

A short note when tutoring spots, new resources, or the Quillhaven demo are ready. This list is for adults. Students should ask a parent.
